HOW TO DESCRIBE THE HOSTEL?
Here is one recent review by a guest:
"Billie's place is attached, with a common entry, where the pay phone is located. The entry is inviting, with a sitting area, shoe depository, and hot drink makings (including Ovaltine!)... but not heated as it is intended for summer use.
"She is a great hostess, helpful and not interfering. There is a cozy common space and stuff laying around just in case, like a stack of new bars of soap, a couple of apples in a dish, band aids, staples like coffee, sugar, honey, tea.
"The kitchen has plenty of dishes and a big picnic table, a tiny TV and a desk with a computer. so the guests are close together, no matter which activity... a friendly set-up.... books, DVD's, videotapes, a guitar. the front yard is totally Christmas... lights and creatures. The furniture is in decent condition. the environment is homey... clean .. not immaculate... tidy with a little comforting clutter.
"The stairway is narrow with a turn halfway up. Upstairs there are 2 tiny rooms. I'm in one.. it has 2 bunk beds. There is a room with several bunk beds, a bathroom. 2 men are staying in there, one from Japan and the other from Italy.. both young, handsome, friendly .. speaking English almost fluently, leaving lovely accents wafting in the air.
"Yesterday, I did about 2/3's of the downtown walking tour. it was great, especially with the beautiful snowing.. both inside and outside things to see, so I had lots of opportunities to warm up. several places on the list are closed for the winter; today I'm headed to the university although I'm not in a hurry to get moving."
